Trauma Work as a Spiritual Practice
Trauma can have lifelong effects, yet it can also lead to a heightened sense of meaning and spirituality.This workshop examines how trauma affects the spirituality of therapists and others who listen to survivors’ stories. Skills for maintaining hope and faith while witnessing trauma will be provided. This workshop is designed for professionals working with survivors of trauma, e.g.,
counselors, clergy, spiritual directors, medical personnel, etc. CEUs for social workers and mental health counselors provided

Facilitator: Christine Dietz, Ph.D., LISW
Christine is a Licensed Independent Social Worker, spiritual director and Reiki Master. she received her M.S.W. from the University of Iowa and her Ph.D. in Sociology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is a graduate of the Lev Shomea Training Program for Spiritual Direction in the Jewish Tradition. Christine’s focus in counseling is on helping people reconnect to their innate wholeness and renew their sense of hope and possibility
